A boilermaker is a metalworker who specialises in transforming sheet metal into various structures, such as vats, tanks and industrial machine parts. Their expertise and precision are essential to guaranteeing the quality and durability of metal structures.
As a boilermaker, you will play a key role in the manufacture and assembly of complex metal parts, thereby contributing to the completion of large-scale industrial projects.
- Analyse technical drawings to determine the dimensions and shape of the parts to be produced.
- Select the appropriate materials and prepare the tools required for manufacturing.
- Cut the metal sheets according to the specified dimensions, using hand tools or numerically controlled machines.
- Shape the parts by folding, bending or stamping to give them the desired shape.
- Assemble the various parts by welding, riveting or bolting, in accordance with quality and safety standards.
- Check the tightness and strength of the assemblies.
- Inspect manufactured parts to ensure they comply with technical specifications.
- Make any necessary adjustments and apply the required finishes, such as grinding or polishing.
- Ensure regular maintenance of the machinery and tools used, in order to guarantee their proper functioning and longevity.
