Mechanically welded chassis

As part of its expertise in the energy sector, the Eurodime Group recently completed a major project involving the design of a mechanically welded steel frame for the maritime transport of liquefied gas. Measuring an impressive 4 metres wide by 11 metres long and weighing 8 tonnes when empty, this chassis embodies the rigour and technical expertise of our teams. Every stage of production, from the choice of materials to quality control, has been designed to withstand the most demanding maritime conditions. This achievement represents a real challenge, both technically and logistically, and demonstrates our commitment to innovation and safety in the industry.

Three words about the project – Mr Raynal Bourion, co-manager

The expertise of the Eurodime Group

The manufacture of this welded steel frame requires a high level of technical expertise and in-depth knowledge of advanced metal fabrication processes. Our engineers and technicians have applied precision welding techniques in accordance with ISO 9606-1 standards to ensure the robustness and reliability of each welded joint. This project required careful planning and expertise in the manufacture of metal structures that are resistant to corrosive marine environments, where the quality of the materials and the strength of the welds are crucial for optimum durability. The Eurodime Group thus stands out for its ability to design complex structures that are perfectly tailored to the needs of its customers.

Careful compliance with standards

To ensure the safety and compliance of this chassis for the transport of liquefied petroleum gas, we have applied strict standards. In accordance with the ISO 20519:2021 standard for equipment used to transport liquefied petroleum gas by sea, the chassis has been designed to withstand extreme pressures and sea conditions. ISO 17635:2016 standards were also complied with in the non-destructive tests carried out, including tests to ensure a structure free of defects that could compromise its strength. This careful compliance with standards is essential to ensure safety in the maritime transport of dangerous goods. In addition, each manufacturing step was monitored and validated by technical experts to ensure full compliance with legal requirements.

CONCLUSION

This welded steel frame project demonstrates the Eurodime Group’s ability to meet even the most demanding requirements in the field of industrial construction. We are proud to have mastered this major challenge, which underlines our commitment to quality, safety and innovation. This frame, the result of months of meticulous work and collaboration between engineers and technicians, embodies the Group’s vision: to offer robust solutions that comply with international standards and are tailored to the specific needs of our customers. Thanks to our expertise in managing complex projects and our compliance with industry standards, Eurodime continues to position itself as a reliable partner for major projects in the energy sector and beyond.
